Who can use the museum passes?

Museum passes can be checked out at no charge to any Sussex County resident who has a library card, is eighteen years of age or older, and is in good standing (no overdues or fines over $10.00).

The museum passes are available at two locations -

How do I make a reservation for a museum pass?

You can reserve a museum pass in person or by calling the library.   Please do not make requests via email.

How far in advance can I reserve a pass?

Reservations can be made up to 30 days in advance of the desired date, subject to availability on a first-come first-serve basis. Only one pass can be signed out per household at any given time.

How many people are admitted to a museum per pass?

The Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum pass is good for six people. The Intrepid requires that you present your library card along with the pass for admission.
The Morris  Museum pass is good for two adults and up to three children.
The Stickley pass admits two adults and all the children in the household under the age of 18.

How long can I keep the pass?

The pass has a one week loan period. So, if you check it out at noon on a Friday, it is due back by noon the following Friday.

How do I cancel a reservation?

Call or stop by the library. Please do so as far in advance as possible so that the pass may be made available to another borrower.

Where do I pick up my pass?

All passes must be picked up at the library branch from which it was requested. You may want to call ahead to verify that the previous borrower has returned it on time.  Please refer to the specific branch hours for more information.

Do I need my library card to pick up the pass?

Yes, you will need to present your library card when you pick up the pass. Your record must be in good standing (no overdues and no fines over $10). You will be asked to fill out a Museum Pass Agreement each time you pick up a pass.

Where do I return my pass?

The pass must be returned to the branch where it was picked up. You will be asked to sign off on the Museum Pass Agreement when you return the pass. Please do NOT put the pass in a book drop.

What is the late fee or replacement fee?

Please be considerate of the next family waiting to use the pass.  If the pass is not returned by the due date, a late fee will be assessed at $5.00 per day. If a pass is lost, the borrower must pay a $100.00 replacement fee.

The Sussex County Library assumes no liability for the borrowers using the pass.
