Patrons with a valid library card from Sparta Public Library, and many northern New Jersey patrons whose libraries participate in the Open Borrowing Program may use their card to check out any circulating materials that are on the shelf of any Sussex County Library System Library.
Q:How do I obtain a library card?
Adult Residents, property owners, hotel/motel residents: current i.d. with a Sussex County street address (such as: driver's license, checkbook, mail received, tax records, utility bill with location of service, rent receipt). P.O. boxes are not acceptable.
Children need to be 3 years old. A parent or guardian must have a Sussex County library card, or an i.d. as described under Adult Residents.
Students 13 and older may register for their own card. A current children's or parent's Sussex County library card, school i.d., or report card is required.
Non-resident individuals: current i.d. with name, employer and employer's address and current i.d. with home address. P.O. boxes are not acceptable.
Summer residents who rent, campground residents: current i.d. with local address, mail received or rent receipts and current i.d. with permanent local address.
Q:Where can I use my library card?
A Sussex County Library System card may be used at any of the six libraries in the Sussex County Library System. In addition, thanks to the Open Borrowing program, Sussex County Library System card holders may borrow materials from hundreds of libraries in northern New Jersey. Q:Does the Sussex County Library System offer public and/or wireless Internet access?
Public internet access as well as wireless access is available at every branch in the Sussex County Library System. In addition to the internet, the public computers provide word processing, spreadsheet and public presentation softwares through Microsoft Office.

Q:How do I reserve a meeting room?
All of the Sussex County libraries have Meeting Rooms that may be reserved by the public for non-profit use. Click here for the reservation application. Reservations can be requested up to 12 weeks in advance from date of application by calling the appropriate library. Granting of the use of a meeting room will be based upon availability and compliance with the Sussex County Library System Meeting Room Policy.
